The One Young World summit

The annual One Young World summit (co-founded by David Jones, Global CEO of Havas, and Kate Robertson, UK Group Chairman of Euro RSCG) took place last weekend, in the cosmopolitan city of Zürich. Distinguished counsellors such as Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof or Fatima Bhutto were invited to facilitate the debate and dialogue among the 1,200 young delegates around six key topics: politics, global business, media, the environment, health and religion.

Evian “Baby Inside”

Our Parisan sister agency – Euro RSCG BETC has just released their latest offering for Evian. After the hugely successful “Rollerbabies” campaign, the “Baby Inside” ad uses a series of images of people wearing t-shirts that have an image of a baby’s body on the front, from the neck down.

Whodunnit?: Beware he consequences of ENVY

Our very own Nigel Clifton, Creative Director, gives his thoughts on Peugeot’s brand new ‘Whodunnit?’ campaign. I love a good whodunit. That is exactly the reason I think I have just cracked the case and accused a 31 year old philandering housewife, with a baby, of pushing a Peugeot 207 into a swimming pool, or should it have been the unlikable middle aged banker……..

The Case of the Sunken Car

Who pushed the Peugeot to the bottom of the swimming pool? A new multimedia campaign, with a CSI-inspired Facebook game, challenges you to figure it out. Peugeot is getting inventive with its advertising strategy, launching a cross-platform multimedia campaign to promote the brand. With content on television, press, radio, and social media, the campaign, called “Whodunnit,” engages fans to help solve a mystery of how a Peugeot wound up at the bottom of a swimming pool. It’s the first time Peugeot has tried something of the sort.

Cannes gold Lions not worth their weight

Dutch agency Boondoggle won five gold Lions at Cannes this year but seems to have hit hard times*. Unfortunately, their cunning idea of pawning their trophies for some extra cash seems to have backfired upon the discovery that the trophies are in fact just worthless yellow copper. Who needs gold Lions anyway right?

Microsoft’s new Internet Explorer 8 ads make us LOL, but not ROFL

Microsoft’s on a bit of an advertising role recently it would seem. Check out their latest campaign for Internet Explorer 8 at YouTube. We’ve embedded our favourite above. One of the ads has actually already been banned for being overly offensive. Judge for yourself here.

Samsung tries to trick us in HD

Watch this video and try to work out how they did it (click through from the video to watch in HD): Once you’ve got your theories, watch the ‘reveal’ video here. Great way to show off the HD capabilities of the phone and a very well choreographed trick. We particularly like the way they’ve incorporated some of the YouTube comments into the reveal.

Lenovo’s cringeworthy viral

It’s something of a rarity for an ad to come along that’s just so bad it makes you feel embarrassed for the company it’s promoting. Sure, there are plenty of ads that are so bad they’re good but this ad, well it’s just so bad it’s…bad.

Eat like snake

Not sure how we missed this. Very funny ad.
