Everything gets an app store

Oh, Apple. Look what you’ve done. Amazon had today announced that an app store is on its way for their Kindle e-reader device. Apps on phones made a whole lot of sense – sure, other mobile platforms had user-installable programs way before Apple’s iPhone. But the fact that you could easily download and install apps over the air and crucially, browse all the apps in one place meant things took off very quickly indeed.

Get out and play with Nokia

Could it be? A website that perfectly echoes the values of the brand it’s promoting? This is one of our favourite brand sites of the year so far. Even the loader screen is about playing. Great stuff. Be sure to check out the behind the scenes video to find out how it was put together. Let’s just hope the N-Gage isn’t quite such a colossal flop this time.

Google knows where you are without GPS

Genius. Watch the video above for an explanation. We’ve just tried it and it’s scarily accurate. Now all we need to do is have a function to keep tabs on other people’s locations too. Those ‘i’m stuck at the station darling’ excuses will soon be a thing of the past.
